On behalf of our Client in Limerick, we are currently sourcing a Automation Design Engineer to join their team. Our Client is a newly established centre which is intended to help Irish based manufacturers (MNC’s and SME’s) to access and accelerate their adoption of digital technologies. Offering a world class physical and digital factory, a vendor showcase, an industry collaboration space and training facilities the centre will bring together technology, expertise, training and business supports to help manufacturing companies to enhance, transform and position their operations for the future. Role overview: With this role you will work as part of a Production Twin team to support the Client and their clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of automated equipment to meet manufacturing industry requirements. You will have a deep knowledge of 3D design solutions and can work with technology, project management, and business teams. Main responsibilities: ·   Convey technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences using the appropriate level of detail for the target audience. Keep ahead of current trends related to production design and the underlying technologies. You can look forward to. ·   Bringing cutting edge production design solutions to life across various manufacturing domains. ·   Developing world class automation equipment solutions for Ireland’s manufacturing base.    Experience Required. Experience of AutoCAD/Solidworks, Pneumatics, Workshop Equipment, and Machine building will be essential. Design analysis and optimization. Development of bespoke machine designs to supply robotic, automation & test solutions for the manufacturing industry. Production of technical documentation including drawings, specifications and BOMs. Use design and tolerance analysis techniques for calculation of design specifications. Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners in a global setup. Understanding of industry 4.0 and digitalization in general. Holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical/Biomedical/Mechatronics/Electronic/Process Engineering or equivalent qualification with appropriate industrial experiences.   The following experience would be an advantage. Experience with equipment sizing calculations and capital cost estimation a plus. A background in Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Processes is also an advantage.
