Scrum Master. JOB DESCRIPTION The Scrum Master is a servant leader who supports the Agile Team in delivering value to customers. This is achieved through training, coaching and mentoring of agile values, principles and practices. The Scrum Master works closely with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Architects and the Release Train Engineer to support the delivery of products and services ensuring built-in quality, transparency, alignment and delivery execution. Responsible for the administrative, coaching and leadership that make Scrum development/delivery possible including: · Facilitate agile events including iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration reviews, retrospectives and daily stand-ups. · Attend Scrum of Scrums and support the RTE and team during PI planning. · Train the team in the use of agile best practices such as estimating stories, effective backlog refinement, moving quality left, reducing batch sizes, limiting WIP etc. · Collaboration with the Product Owner to ensure the backlog is refined and prioritized. · Protect the team capacity and help to resolve impediments. · Actively work to improve the flow of value through the team with the support of data. · Act as a buffer between the team and process overhead so they can focus on the timely delivery of products and services. This includes the administration and setup of tools such as JIRA, scheduling events, helping the team with tool and process usage, producing reports and metrics, coordinating the demos etc. · Facilitate internal and external communication (e.g. task coordination, progress tracking/reporting, dependency management. · Ensure the team is well-informed on internal and external initiatives and activities. · Keep external stakeholders, collaborates, and other interested parties well-informed on progress with the demonstration of working products and services. Note, this role will be working with data science and data engineering teams. To better support these teams, a sound knowledge of Scrum/XP and Kanban is required. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE Requires BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with IT focus degree. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Scrum Master, preferably implementing SAFe Agile methodologies. SAFe certified Scrum Master, Advanced Scrum Master or equivalent with another framework. LEADERSHIP SKILLS: The Scrum Master should demonstrate local leadership within the team through coaching, mentoring and as a knowledgeable expert on agile practices. The Scrum Master must also be comfortable interacting with key stakeholders and leaders to set expectations and protect the interests of the team with clarity and authority. DOMAIN AND INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE: · Experience with healthcare providers is a plus. · Experience with teams working in the field of data science or data engineering is a plus.
