Exciting new opportunity for a Metrology Engineer. This is an initial 12-month contract role with a top medical device multinational in Limerick. THE ROLE: * Core responsibilities will be the deployment of new metrology systems and the provision of life cycle support to existing metrology platforms. * Core duties for this role will include - Instrument Qualification / Test Method Validation / Instrument Deployment (calibration, verification, maintenance program, data integrity etc) / Optimization of metrology performance within a production testing environment / Change control competency to enable deployment of new metrology and the enhancement of existing metrology within the quality and supporting systems. * You will partner with the equipment owners, system developers and product development teams to design, improve, and transfer these measurement systems. * You will support Test Method Deployment and ensure the success of the final operating solution. * Some key areas where proficiency is required are - Protocols, Test Scripts, Summary Reports, Change control documentation, Procedure updates, Hands on testing. REQUIREMENTS: * BS in Optics, Physics, Engineering or equivalent technical degree required. * 2 years' experience in the industrial, technical or research environments required. (1 years with a Ph.D. in Optics, Physics, Engineering or equivalent technical degree.) * Prior experience and training in medical device quality systems is preferred. * The successful candidate will need to have had exposure in the medical device industry and be familiar with medical device regulations around the Change Request process and the Equipment Qualification process. * Experience navigating Medical Device Quality systems with experience in implementing Change Requests and writing technical reports and executing test scripts. * Familiarity with the lifecycle management of equipment and methods.
