Local Enterprise Offices (LEO’s) have been established nationwide to facilitate access to enterprise services and to promote and support enterprise at a local level. LEO’s are operated by Local Authorities with support from Enterprise Ireland. Each LEO is led by a Head of Enterprise and a vacancy now exists in Limerick City and County Council. The Head of Enterprise is a key senior role within the LEO structure and broad Economic Development function of the Local Authority. The successful candidate will lead a team charged with delivering a high standard quality system of coordinated and cohesive State support to the micro and small business sector, working to ensure an ‘enterprise-friendly’ county for companies and individuals establishing or expanding their businesses. This leadership will ensure that the LEO serves as a First Stop Shop in the provision of services to start, grow and develop micro and small business in the local area. S/he will also be required. to make a significant contribution to the development and implementation of a strategic plan to support enterprise, entrepreneurship and job creation at a local level.
