Role: Software Engineer. Location: Limerick. Salary: Negotiable. Duration: Permanent. FRS are excited to announce a new role with a brilliant client of ours in Limerick. We are currently searching for an energetic and ambitous candidate to join their deployment team as a Software Engineer . About the Job: Participate in development activities including solution design and review, development, unit testing, and code review. Collaborate with the project team. Participate in team and project meetings. Adhere to Scrum methodology and team standards. About the Ideal Candidate: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics or equivalent work experience. A minimum of one years experience in a software development role. Able to take ownership of assigned tasks and meet responsibilities with minimal supervision. A self-starter, with a strong work ethic and a success-based attitude. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills. Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing. Computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design. Proficient in at least one modern programming language such as Java or C# Detailed-oriented with strong observational and analytical skills. Passionate about learning new technologies and systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Flexible and team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks. Valued Knowledge / Skills: Java experience and/or experience with Object Oriented design/programming. Proficient in scripting languages, Python, and build tools such as ANT or Maven. Familiar with Unix/Linux Operating Systems. Experience with Progress OpenEdge. Experience in a Support or DevOps role. Familiar with database concepts and operations. Experience working in an Agile or Scrum team. Experience working in a globally dispersed team. Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo. Experience with environment configuration management and deployment tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, and virtualization.
