Collins McNicholas currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with one of their clients in the Mid-West Region. This role is a permanent position. In support of existing Manufacturing platforms within the business, you will lead projects to optimize processes and cell equipment to facilitate high levels of quality, reliability and capability. The following are the key requirements for the role: Responsibilities: As a Senior Engineer your responsibilities will include: Development of Technology Roadmap Evolution of current Technologies. New Concept Design for Improved Capability / Performance. Leading Equipment Design and Installation Projects from URS to PQ. Management of Engineering Projects with responsibility for on-time, on-budget delivery of engineering projects. Leading Projects through detailed plans and execution on innovative change across assigned assets, both equipment upgrades and equipment optimizations. Adherence to site and legislative safety standards and other relevant regulations. All employees are responsible for minimizing both the Environmental and Health & Safety effects of the work that they perform. Contractor and Vendor resource management to facilitate attainment of project or team goals within established timelines and budgets. Extensive contribution to engineering standards development, balancing corporate and customer needs. Active contribution to the Site Value Stream Management Team by proactively looking for areas to improve both within Engineering and across the business. Work as a technical Core Team member on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects with full accountability to define and lead the activities. You will be responsible for providing technical and leadership with specific ownership for the following: Equipment Design and Development and Performance Improvement Roadmaps. Technology Roadmap Development. New Equipment and Product Introduction. Perform planning, development, facilitation of design and installation of high volume manufacturing equipment, systems and processes. Engage with the appropriate personnel in the identification and resolution of Corrective/Preventative actions to address Safety, Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues. Project Management and co-ordination of Multiple Projects in parallel in a matrix environment. Requirements: You will have a minimum qualification of Level 8 B.Eng. honours degree in Mechanical Engineering with a proven track record of delivering results. You will have 8+ years of engineering experience in the areas of equipment design, installation, commissioning, and validation and OEE performance improvement in a fully automated high volume manufacturing environment. You will have a passion for Equipment and Automation with a strong background in systematic problem solving and data analysis techniques. Previous experience with Equipment OEE Performance Improvement is required. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will operate as a technical leader, leading and directing projects to achieve engineering goals in line with business strategies and objectives. Proven Track record in equipment design and performance improvement 3-D CAD Modelling - Solidworks, Inventor etc. Equipment Controls, Instrumentation & Robotics. Equipment Construction and Safety Specification. Experience and understanding of Material Properties, Specifications and Interactions. Experience and understanding of Mechanical/Electrical Safety Engineering Standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, root-cause and data analysis skills with a strong attention to detail are required. Good interpersonal and communication skills with proven leadership abilities are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Project Management experience is preferred with a proven track-record of having successfully completed projects. Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and to facilitate and resolve cross-functional activities and issues. Experience using process improvement techniques such as Six Sigma and lean preferred. Statistical Engineering/Green/Black Belt Certification preferable but not essential.
