Description

As the Maintenance or Process Supervisor you will be responsible for providing a high quality maintenance and technical support service to process operations. You will be required to assist in managing a busy production department as part of a multi-disciplined Staff Team as well as overseeing the day-to-day activities of either: A Maintenance team of Fitters and Instrument Electrical craft in ensuring all maintenance work is carried out in an effective and efficient manner OR. A team of shift operators in ensuring the effective and efficient operations of a busy production department. Roles & Responsibilities. Lead the team in improving on safety, health and environment issues. Motivate and lead team to excellent performance. Ensure the teams comply with all safety, health and environmental targets - Ensure their teams comply with all necessary procedures and administrative requirements. Ensure the teams comply with all necessary technical and work quality requirements – eg: specifications, scopes and best practices. Lead the team in improving work methods and support to improve performance with respect to reliability, costs, energy and quality. Set annual team objectives - Ensure the teams stay focused on their unit’s contribution and standard of work. Represent / support the team, where appropriate, in their roles in project development. Oversee the assignment of equipment priorities, planning and scheduling, care plans, reviews and failure investigations. Enforce discipline within the teams - Communicate with the teams on behalf of the Management. Develop teams and team members. Manage and assess individual and team performance identifying areas for improvement - Identify yearly training requirements in conjunction with the training department. Coach, guide and provide training for the teams to ensure all team members attain and maintain competency in their roles and that the team continues to deliver high performance. Prepare training packages on the operation and maintenance of equipment. Develop teamwork and autonomy within the Teams. Coordinate work - Take part in the local annual, intermediate and weekly planning and scheduling and review process to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance process. Ensure completion of the weekly schedules and provide feedback to the planner for schedule reviews confirming completion and identifying areas for improvement. On-going management and reporting of team performance indicators. Drive the weekly schedule review meeting. Educational / Professional Requirements: At least five years’ supervisory experience gained within heavy industry. Third level qualification to a minimum of Diploma in a Technical, Process or Management of other related discipline OR a time served electrical, mechanical or instrumentation apprenticeship or a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. Proven experience of implementing safety standards. Demonstrable leadership abilities within project work or day-to-day responsibilities. Good technical knowledge of process equipment. The determination and drive to sustain current best practices and the ability to identify, develop and implement future best practices.
