Description

Senior Systems Engineer. Advanced Monitoring Solutions Team. Become part of Advanced Monitoring Solutions team contributing to IT Operations success by implementing monitoring for the applications across varying technology stack, using our approved standard set of monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Thousand eyes, NetScout etc. The monitoring solutions need to enable the operations teams to proactively identify and remediate issues. Lead, design, develop and implement solutions in a complex environments consisting of various technologies, using a wide range of monitoring solutions such as dashboarding, alerting, creating custom solutions to ensure operations teams can monitor the health of the applications across the organization. Additionally, responsible to create dashboards / reports to help technology and business leadership to understand the customer impact during an outage. As a technical expert, leverage evolving machine learning technologies and improve customer experience by implementing solutions to reduce time to detect, investigate and resolution. Work closely with Leadership team, Enterprise Architects, Technical leads, Developers, Product owners, Account Executives, Operation teams to build and implement end to end Monitoring Solutions. Mentor own team and other teams on monitoring tools, to effectively use and interpret the data from tools. Responsibilities. Identify and Coordinate instrumentation efforts for all applications with monitoring tools. Develop end to end monitoring dashboards, alerts and reports in Splunk, AppDynamics, Thousand eyes etc as applicable. Develop predictive analytic approach using advanced Machine Learning techniques. Develop monitoring both on-premise and cloud applications. Provide subject matter expertise and serve as main point of contact for monitoring/reporting/alerting solutions developed. Create custom monitoring solutions where direct monitoring is not possible. Work on optimizing complex Splunk Dashboards and Alerts by tuning queries. Experience in Parsing, Indexing, Searching concepts Hot, Warm, Cold, Frozen bucketing. Good knowledge about Splunk architecture and various components (indexer, forwarder, search heads, deployment server), Heavy and Universal forwarder, License model. Working Experience in large datasets to generate insights by using Splunk. Provide assistance to App and Support teams in identifying the tuning opportunities using APM tools especially AppDynamics. Collaborate with various teams to initiate new ideas for simplifying the application logging which will help in effective monitoring. Educate internal customers on the tools and available dashboards, so that they can effectively use to reduce downtime and root cause analysis. Research, evaluate and perform POCs of new solutions. Basic Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical or scientific field, or equivalent experience. 10+ years of implementing monitoring and performance engineering experience. 10+ years of scripting or software development experience. 10+ years of experience with large-scale financial systems architectures. 5+ years of experience in using Splunk, AppDyanamics, Thousand Eyes, AppPulse or equivalent monitoring tools. 5+ years demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast paced, cross functional team environment. Certifications. Splunk 7.x Power User Certification. Splunk Admin and Architect certification is optional.
