Description

Role. The Operational Excellence Manager will help drive transformational culture change, including but not limited to continuous and process improvement through the use and deployment of lean methodologies and tools, as well as effective project and change management. The Operational Excellence Manager will work closely with all departments as well as cross functional influencing and partnering with them to drive Operational Excellence. Key Responsibilities. Develop, implement and execute the operational excellence program for the business. Partner with organizational leaders and their teams to define and execute results focused improvement initiatives aligned with the strategic objectives of the site including portfolio and project management activities. Ensure projects are integrated and aligned with all business activities and with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish the project goals. Identify key opportunities and gaps in the core business and project management processes and aligns resources to these priorities. Lead the development of value stream mapping to measure current performance and establish future state targets to eliminate waste, improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory. Develop and implement a site strategy for lean deployment training and implementation to support lean activities and strategic goals of the organization. Identify and implement process improvements in all areas of our business which includes leading kaizen activities, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, standard work, and TPM to enhance KPI performance. Providing technical knowledge and training in new or existing lean methods that develop a highly effective visual management process, creating workflows designed to meet business objectives and ensure adherence to standard work. Own the timely delivery of initiatives and regularly reports to leadership team and the site with status of schedules and achievement of intended objectives. Performs other related duties as assigned by your manager. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Management or related discipline is required plus 3+ years of experience working in a continuous improvement role with proven track record of leading the transforming of behaviours and subsequently a culture to a continuous improvement. 3+ years of experience developing and leading teams with strong matrix and indirect reporting relationships in the area of continuous improvement and process excellence. Demonstrated ability to provide team with a clear sense of direction. Superior communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) to influence, motivate, and manage diverse groups. Strong business acumen and understanding of various business disciplines (commercial, finance, operations, technical, etc.). Excellent planning, organization, analysis, and problem-solving skills. Passionate about winning and achieving results. Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is required. Experience in In Vitro clinical Diagnostics industry desirable. Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification is required.
