Position: CNM2 / Person in Charge (Adult Service. No of position: 1. Location: North Co. Cork / South Co. Limerick. Sector: Intellectual Disability Services. Salary / Pay rate: scale Point 1 - Point 9, DOE benefits. Type of role: as per contract, permanent and maternity leave contracts. Initial Working hours: 37.5h/week, to work roster duty including weekends. Reporting to: Area Manager Residential Services / Service Manager. Job description: Your main responsibilities will be quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership. You will manage the residence and listen to, learn from, support and work to achieve the priorities of the residents in line with The National Standards for Residential Services Children and Adults with Disabilities . You will provide them with a home-from-home in accordance with the company's Mission Statement. Company profile: A non-profit organization providing services and supports to children and adults with special needs and their families in the North Cork and South Limerick area. Service provided within residential setting and retirement home setting. Your profile: * Third level Degree in Nursing, RNID or RGN or PN. * Active registration with NMBI. * 5 years' experience working with children/adults with an intellectual disability in a residential setting. * Experience of managing residential budgets. * 3 years' experience at management level and appropriate management qualifications to Fetac/QQ1 level 6 or equivalent. * Strong managerial skills, ability to lead a staff team effectively. * Understanding and knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards. What will be expected of you: * Be proactive in promoting and ensuring that the Ethos, Mission, Vision and core values of the St. Josephs Foundation are upheld. * Ensure that personnel within their designated areas of responsibility work in accordance with the policies and ethos of the St. Josephs Foundation. * Ensure that all nursing staff adhere to professional code of conduct and operate within their scope of practice. * Ensure that any concerns for the safety and welfare of residents are reported in a timely manner. * Ensure a holistic Model of Care for Service Users which is consistent with a Person Centred approach. * Be familiar with all Policies and Procedures, particularly those pertaining to client safety and welfare. Leadership & Accountability. * Is responsible for leading and managing interdisciplinary care for service users in areas of. responsibility. * Ensure that staff are empowered through coaching, education, supervision. * Lead the nursing and allied team through regular team meetings. * Enable staff to identify and suggest improvement initiatives. * Ensures high standards of care in the daily running of services within designated areas. Management and Staff Development. * Is committed to and promotes continuous professional development to ensure best practice. * Ensure the efficient and effective allocation and coordination of resources to achieve tasks. within areas of responsibility. * Ensure scheduling of rosters is completed out in a timely and fair manner which reflects. service needs. * Ensure that Health and Safety practices are implemented in accordance with the Safety. Statement of the service. * Conduct regular hazard identification audits and ensure that appropriate action is taken. * Ensure that all personnel are familiar with emergency and other operational procedures and. regulations. Planning. * Prioritise and responds to demands under pressure or in emergencies. * Within areas of responsibility plan short, medium and long term goals to achieve desired. outcomes for residents and staff. Human Resources. * Work with the Line Manager in developing strategies for staff retention. * Contribute to the development of an organisational culture conducive to the establishment. and maintenance of good staff morale. Finance. * Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources allocated to designated areas. Health and Safety. * Ensure all accidents/incidents are reported on the electronic reporting System Xyea. * Make oneself aware of the companie's duties and the employee duties under the Safety, Health and Welfare at work Act 2005.
