My client, one of the world's leading medical technology companies, specializes in the manufacture of medical devices and instrument systems. Due to phenomenal growth they are now on the lookout for an Electronic Engineer to join their team based in their state-of-the-art R&D Centre in Limerick. As an Electronic Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing innovative solutions to challenges related to product design and ensuring timely completion of project deliverables. You will assist with developing electro-mechanical medical devices and will support projects in all phases, from technology development through commercialization. Will this role suit me? What will I be doing? You will participate in the new product development efforts from concept through to implementation. You will manage circuit level hardware design phases including architecture and design, component selection, schematic entry, board bring-up and integration of complex printed circuit board and cable assemblies into medical devices and instrument systems. You will review and implement designs to ensure that all agency requirements (UL, IEC, FDA) are being met throughout the design process. You will use tools like FMEA to determine and document root cause of products system or component failure. You will produce design specifications and test protocols, execute testing and compose associated test reports. You will participate in technical design reviews to ensure electrical design integrity and safety are achieved. You will develop and implement test procedures to verify design operation and compliance to international standards e.g. CE/EMC. What do I need to have to apply? Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline. 3 years as an Electronics Engineer in a highly regulated environment. Experience with Digital and Analog design. Experience with drawings packages such as Eplan, AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical. Experience of EMC testing including Immunity Testing, Capacitive Voltage Emissions, Current Probe Emissions, ESD Testing, Transient Testing, Radiated Emissions Testing. Experience in AC/DC, DC/DC convertors. Experience developing firmware using Communication protocols I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc in an embedded environment. What's in it for me?
