The production control position is responsible for collating information regarding customers’ requirements, maintenance plan, depot resources (people and materials), depot infrastructure and available down time of trucks to produce daily, short and medium-term plans for production and ensuring the successful execution of the plan in collaboration with production and engineering managers. • Minimise costs and maximise operating efficiencies throughout the plant by resource planning and controlling overtime, whilst ensuring delivery of the daily plan. • Identify resources available by utilising the Roster to identify when staff are on Annual leave, sickness, training courses etc. From this information ensure forecast deficits are addressed. • To input into all relevant IT systems in order to maintain accurate records. • maintain accurate records of vehicles for examination or repair. • ensure that the plan is adhered to and runs in accordance with the time line, continues to be achievable and meets all of the customer requirements. • liaise with stores, operations and engineering to achieve daily plan. • QHSE compliance through the consistent application of all SOP’s, ITP's and WI’s. • Help develop plans to improve efficiencies, outputs and cost reductions. • Create an environment of right first time in everything that we do. Experience. 1) Experience of working in a manufacturing, engineering or maintenance environment. 2) Ability to be assertive when the situation requires. 3) Planner or supply chain qualification or equivalent in experience. 4) Ability to use Sage, Excel, Word and Outlook. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
