THE COMPANY/OPPORTUNITY. My client is a very well-established automation solutions provider in operation for over 40 years. They provide a huge range of automation solutions to manufacturing companies across multiple sectors that enable their customers to unlock the potential behind their investment in automation technology & services. Employing a large team of Automation SME's this company supports a wide portfolio of medical device/pharma, manufacturing & logistics organisations across Ireland & the UK. In the automation engineer job, you will receive an excellent salary ranging from €55k-€75k (doe) along with pension, company laptop, phone as well as opportunity to work from home/remotely when you aren't required to be on-site. My client is very closely partnered with Rockwell so that relationship also brings great opportunity to receive extensive training in Rockwell's technology etc. This organisation has a really nice SME/family feel to it so if you are currently working for a larger multi-national and would like the opportunity to be more than just a number working in a medium sized operation where you still get the opportunity to work with large blue-chip companies this may be the role for you! In terms of career progression there will be ample opportunity to develop into a team lead/manager if that's what you are looking for or if you would prefer to take your career down the individual contributor/ Principal SME route that option is also very much available. Currently my client has a strong pipeline of projects primarily working with med device companies in the Limerick area and are looking to recruit an Automation Engineer to support clients in this location. THE ROLE: Some of the key elements of the Automation Engineer job will include. 1. Support and programming for PLC's (Rockwell/Allen Bradley Logix 5000/500 and Studio 5000), motion control and PC controlled equipment. 2. Deliver automation support to manufacturing, including troubleshooting and issue resolution. 3.Assisting the development of automated system life cycle documents to meet business requirements in the support of automated systems. (i.e. Validation, SOP's. 4. Programming and execution of changes to the process automation code and systems hardware. 5. Liaising closely with other technical teams on projects issues and solutions. 6. Provide both remote and on-site support to clients as required. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: You will be degree qualified and have 3 years experience supporting DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI and PC controlled systems in manufacturing companies. A strong background in Rockwell/Allen Bradley Logix 5000/500 and/or Studio 5000. with experience in codingdevelopment roubleshooting of automation systems will be a big advantage in this role. As Automation Engineer you will definitely need to have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing automation, machine design, development and validation process and an understanding of GAMP 5 guidelines working within a GMP setting will be a big plus.
