DevOps Developer. About the Role: The role will be focused on contributing to version-controlled configuration assets within a DevOps team for fully automated continuous deployment solution, to diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues and work collaboratively as part of the wider organisation. The roles will be responsible primarily for the support of the multiple PEGA developed systems within LGI including CI/CD enhancements and features on these systems. The role will also be involve leveraging the out of the box capabilities of PRPC and the Pega frameworks and thus reduce delivery time, limit defects and maximize upgradability. Proactive member or a self-organising, highly skilled agile software development and support team based in Limerick, Ireland. Role will involve build/maintain/ensuring to the appropriate levels of PEGA end to end process Automation. Specific Tasks/ Duties: Working within a Development environment you'll be responsible for ensuring that the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment systems run smoothly, across all product development teams. Individual will also be responsible for ensuring that the CI/CD processes are transferrable out of the business in support of their software installations. As part of the wider software operations function the DevOps engineer will also assist in managing the engagement of the software division with the wider ecosystem across the company. Ideally you will have experience in supporting CI/CD to implementation of software products at customer sites. Required to provide innovative ideas and solutions regarding systems design and technology enhancements within a collaborative and team focused ethos. Responsible for defining reusable design patterns and shared/reusable enterprise rules/workflow components on the Pega platform. The individual must be comfortable with objectively challenging their peers and superiors to ensure adherence to agreed quality standards. The Person Should Have: Around 3 to 4 years' hands on industry experience in implementing best practices for Continuous Integration and continuous deployment process. Developer background in any Object-Oriented Programming language, along with experience in continuous integration / improvement using source control, automated build/test and code coverage analysis tools. Experience establishing and employing Continuous Integration practices and tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab and other CI tools. Frequent and comfortable use of configuration management automation tools in creating continuous delivery systems. DevOps toolchain experience: JIRA, Jenkins etc. Configuration and deployment tools experience – Ansible, Chef, Puppet etc. Has experience working closely with IT Operations, IT Development and IT Service teams to promote DevOps culture. In depth understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery, software configuration management, version control and release management. Experience with Scripting languages (including JavaScript. Must have experience with building a highly automated DevOps infrastructure. Highly desirable but not essential requirements. Developing reporting to measure the effectiveness of automated processes. PEGA development experience is highly desirable in the areas of PEGA Customer Service for Communications. PEGA Certified Systems Architect qualification highly desirable. Desirable to have experience in full PRPC implementation cycle including enterprise Class Structure design and Rulesets design. Experience establishing and employing Continuous Integration practices and tools such as Jenkins or other CI tools. Agile SCRUM software methodology experience using products such as JIRA Agile.
