Process Automation Engineer - Hybrid Electric Cars. Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick (with travel to Germany. €Excellent DOE. Our client specialises in developing innovative electronic, electromechanical and mechatronic products for the automotive industry. They are now seeking a Process Automation Engineer to join their team in Abbeyfeale. This is the ideal role for a high volume manufacturing professional from a mechanical and automation process background with a strong grounding in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering. As a Process Automation Engineer, you’ll be tasked with delivering assembly concepts and solutions for new products. Working on new business requirements, such as our client’s on-board charger for hybrid electric cars, you’ll manage all the technical aspects of custom process automation solutions. You’ll be working closely with the R&D function in Germany for product acquisition and development phases and then developing concepts, proposals, specifications and requirements documents to support assembly. As such, travel to Germany will be required. Additionally, you will: - Develop and deliver presentations and documentation for equipment and processes. - Support decisions regarding the nest configuration for production line. - Evaluate equipment and processes. To be considered, you must have: - At least three years’ experience within a high volume manufacturing environment. - Experience in complex mechanical assembly and automation processes. - High-level experience of design requirements for high-speed production equipment. - Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams. - Strong tool and/or equipment design knowledge. - A good understanding of efficient and effective component design for volume manufacturing processes. - A degree (or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering (Level 8 on NFQ. Highly motivated and analytical, as a Process Automation Engineer, you must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and a flexible approach are also key.
