Area Sales Manager – Mid West Region. McMahons Builders Providers have been providing quality building supplies and DIY materials to the trade and public for over 185 years and have grown to become one of the largest independent builder’s providers on the island of Ireland, with a network of 11 stores, as well as a Truss Manufacturing plant and 3 Hardwood & Sheet Material branches. McMahons offer a one stop shop offering, with a wide range of products catering for the Builder, DIY enthusiast and Home Owner. McMahon’s extensive product range includes building materials, plumbing & heating, timber & sheeting, insulation,plant & tool hire, painting & decorating, doors & floors, bathrooms, garden and outdoor and much more. The Role. McMahons are now seeking applications for the position of Area Sales Manager – Mid West Region to primarily focus on increasing business through the Limerick Branch. The Limerick branch is a thriving builders providers branch, with significant capacity to grow as the construction sector continues to recover. The Area Sales Manager is an important newly created position that is required to help ensure that the ambitious growth objectives are achieved. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager the responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager will include the following: The day to day management and development of the sales team operating from the Limerick Branch (internal and external. The proactive development of new business with key existing customers and potential new customers, focusing on targeting the cross selling of the company’s entire range of products on both residential and commercial projects. In addition to focusing on mainstream building materials, the role will also involve working closely with Product Managers to grow sales in the areas of Heating & Plumbing, Tool & Plant Hire, as well as Roof Truss Manufacturing. Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager to design and implement a strategic sales plan that targets the expansion of the company’s customer base, building on McMahon’s strong presence in the Mid-West Region. Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of new sales opportunities through the proactive management of new leads and information utilising the innovative tools provided. Develop a good understanding of the Limerick Branch operating procedures to ensure that excellent relations are maintained with branch operations and transport, ensuring customer service and sales opportunities are maximised. Develop strong working relationships with building product suppliers to maximise sales opportunities. The Role (continued): The management of key customers contracts and information in an organised and efficient manner. This will also involve participating in a future CRM system implementation project. The utilisation of the existing ERP system and trend analysis to monitor and develop sales opportunities. Quickly responding to and resolving any customer queries raised, ensuring that the company’s excellent customer service levels are maintained. Working towards and achieving the sales growth targets for the Mid-West region, while also maintaining the current levels of Margin %. Providing weekly and monthly reports to the Regional Sales Manager covering the sales activity in the region. The Person. The following mix of experience and attributes will be required by the successful candidate: A minimum of 5 years senior commercial experience in the Builders Merchanting Sector. Be a results driven person with a proven track record of meeting sales and margin targets. Good leadership and people management skills and an ability to maintain a positive team spirit. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Excellent negotiation skills and a proactive approach to problem solving. Experienced in using Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
