Sanderson are recruiting experienced Functional Safety Engineers for our multinational electronics design client in the Midwest Region. As a Functional Safety Engineer, you'll be working cross-functionally alongside. System Engineers, Component Engineers, and external suppliers, ensuring everything that's produced aligns with functional safety processes and requirements. This will mean a 'safe' product is always delivered, according to our vehicle development schedule. As part of this role, you'll work with suppliers and hardware/software developers to design ISO 26262 compliant systems. You will perform system hazard and risk analysis, definition of safety goals, functional safety requirements, technical safety requirements, and hardware and software safety requirements. You'll work with safety and failure analysis, documenting analysis requirements and results. You will need to work in an open, transparent and collaborative manner, sharing good practice and seeking to continuously improve the quality of outputs. You'll be: Ensuring products align with functional safety processes and requirements. Working with suppliers and hardware/software developers to design ISO 26262. compliant systems. Documenting analysis requirements and results. WHAT YOU'LL NEED. You'll have experience of safety analysis including FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA. You will also have an understanding of safety metrics, SPFM, LFM and PMHF. You will also have an understanding of silicon devices, processors, micro-controller safety analysis, and safety mechanisms. Experience as a functional safety manager is also desirable. Experience with Linux, MISRA, QNX Safety OS and CRC is highly advantageous. Experience of safety analysis.
