Account Manager: UK / Ireland - Advanced Bioprocessing. The BD sales team is a strong, supportive and experienced team with a high level of mentorship. A very attractive remuneration package, with a company car, IPAD, Iphone and excellent benefits. The Advanced Bioprocessing business is a platform within BD Biosciences. It has been serving the biotech industry for over 100 years with cell culture media, products and services to help them manufacture biopharmaceutical medicines. Our products are used in the manufacture of half of the top 10 selling biopharmaceutical drugs, in addition to over 150 other commercial drug products and many more in development. You would be responsible for clients in the UK and Ireland - managing and expanding existing business while seeking out, qualifying and closing business with new clients. While being supported by a very experienced manager and EU sales team, you would provide regular updates to stakeholders throughout the business, in sales, marketing, operations and finance. This is a home based role, with the expectation of around 50% travel in your region, with occasional travel to other EU countries and the US. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing customer relationships throughout the company’s customer base in the UK/Ireland region, which includes a targeted group of biopharmaceutical companies and Contract Development & Manufacturing Organizations (CDMO’s. The principal aim of the role will be to implement a sales and marketing strategy for the assigned sales area and key regional accounts in the biopharmaceutical market, ensuring all commercial objectives (net sales and gross profitability) relative to the BD cell culture media product and services portfolio are achieved. Consequently, the role will require regular on-site customer visits with the R&D, Process Development, Quality and Operational teams. You will report to your Sales Manager who is based in The Netherlands and work in close collaboration with the EU Business Director, European Sales Associates, Global Scientific Applications Manager and internal functional leaders. We are looking for someone to develop and implement sales action plans for targeted new and current biopharma customers, prioritizing pipeline development and long term revenue. Current customers: Identify opportunities within existing accounts by implementing new go-to-market strategy programs and build new streams of revenue and profitability. New customers: Find new opportunities within new accounts. Work with your manager and marketing team to develop a plan to generate leads and grow pipeline. Report and monitor opportunities in the sales funnel through the Salesforce.com CRM tool. Participate at biopharmaceutical congresses and workshops (1) to support the marketing of BD cell culture media and supplements products & services, (2) to further develop market intelligence and (3) to generate new leads and opportunities. You will have experience In a similar sales role in the biopharmaceutical segment or 5 years of experience in upstream bioprocessing in a biotech company, with a Bachelors degree, and Masters degree preferred in a relevant life sciences industry, preferably in cell biology or a related field in biology. Scientific and technical knowledge of the biopharmaceutical R&D processes. This is a home based position with +/- 50% travel some of which is international. The right person must have strong planning, organizational and interpersonal skills. This role required you to be well-developed project management & relationship building skills. A passion and drive with a strong commitment to develop and sustain long term business partnerships.
