Our client in Tipperary is building the next generation of commerce infrastructure, services, and analytics as part of the research and development organization of the largest global payment processor. Role Overview. The DevOps Engineer will, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary delivery team, design and implement software delivery processes to ensure high quality product is continuously deployable to multiple environments and continuously monitored and maintained thereafter. Primary Objectives. Contribute significantly to implementing technical solutions within a collaborative, high trust, solutions delivery team which will contain developers, data scientists and business analysts. Achieve a delivery process which has high degrees of flow, feedback and trust to facilitate continuous deployment of high quality software products. Work independently when required, communicating regularly with stakeholders on solution implementation. Continuously innovate in terms of process and technology. Provide technical coaching on moderately complex issues to colleagues. Be a proactive stakeholder in product quality. Must be able to analyse and prioritize defects incidents and determine root cause and effect resolution of issues in a timely manner. Strong verbal, written and organizational skills and a strong customer focus. Build a knowledge base on the applications and acquire subject matter expertise on the overall line of business. Will perform additional job duties as required. Knowledge & Skills. A team player with a positive, proactive disposition providing technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to less experienced individuals. Ability to design, communicate, implement and manage DevOps processes (including build, release, configuration and test automation) within a multidisciplinary agile delivery team. Excellent knowledge of application and infrastructure security principles and measures. Expert in one or more scripting language(s) such as shell or PowerShell. Thorough understanding and experience with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL. High degree of experience of both windows and linux based operating systems. Strong understanding of cloud based technologies and providers such as AWS, Azure and GCP. Experience working in a high-paced agile continuous deployment environment. Experience with SDLC artefact management tools such as JIRA. Extensive knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, OS (incl linux), software, network, virtualization, cloud infrastructure) and their application to business functions/processes. Knowledge of DevOps principles, automated toolchains, database concepts and MS Office. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications.
