Job Title Production Manager - Sme Feel

The successful candidate will lead and co-ordinate all activities required to achieve the business plan requirements for operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in setting priorities and focus. Make decisions in priorities in case of conflicts in collaboration with management team
  • Proactively organise resources and propose changes based on agreed priorities adequately balancing long term priorities ( NRE) and short term priorities ( shipping plan )
  • Drive continuous improvement across the board and take initiatives to make things better every day
  • Owns and drives the Safety, Quality, service and cost metric.
  • Lead multi / cross-functional project teams to achieve milestones and results
  • Excel in technical competence required for the role
  • Leads by example and demonstrates to agreed behaviours
  • Aligns goals and objectives in collaboration with management
  • Executes on lean/ Shingo initiatives bringing everyone on board
  • Is committed to develop, coach, motivate self and team and supports development and experiences
  • Proactively engage in new product development to ensure a smooth transition from development into production
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the company and addresses their needs of communication and information.
  • Manage all performance related matters so that the team achieves the required standards
  • Participate in recruitment and selection activities as required by the company.
  • Work with support departments to deliver productivity improvements.
  • Day to day production planning to ensure that promised delivery dates are met.
  • Responsible for the Contract Review process for non-Development/Engineering related orders, to ensure that such orders can be processed with optimal efficiency, effectiveness and adherence to customer and quality requirement.
  • Work with customer services on provision of information for the purpose of attracting new business.
  • Work with the relevant departments to deal with customer issues surrounding complaints, queries, credit issues and any other production related topics which customers need assistance with from time to time.
  • Ensure Quality and EHS policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Professional skills/knowledge

  • Relevant third level degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Deep understanding of costs management
  • Understanding of Finance - Profit
  • Planning and Organisation skills - Planning labour, materials and equipment availability
  • Understanding of the Quality system and loss and Balance sheet
  • Understand if employment law, natural justice and appreciation of fairness
  • Understanding of employee engagement, motivation and Leadership
  • Basic understanding of process validations/FMEA's and protocols
